With the help of his navigation it didn't take long for Sasha to find Thai Chili Jam, without it though he never would have been able to find it. It was in a part of town he had always wanted to visit but never seemed to have the time too. He parked and walked to stand near the front door and he sent a text to Avery: 'hey at Thai place, standing outside. If you seated let me know'.
He checked himself over, making sure he looked nice. He smoothed his hands down his hair and took a deep breath. He hoped he made a nice impression. He really needed friends and Avery seemed like he could be a good guy. The fact that he was smoking hot didn't hurt either.

Avery paused in his step, chills going up his spine at the sound of Sasha's voice. He swallowed a minute and grinned as well. There had been a few hints at Sasha possibly swinging that way, but Avery was sure now. He put his phone in his pocket and continued to the restaurant, putting his still-stained fingers into his pockets.

"I got navigation on my phone, I'll find it," Sasha was grinning from ear to ear, "give me a few minutes to get my bearings then I'll meet you there," he lowered his voice to a tone that was a bit more intimate and even a little seductive, "can't wait to see you again Avery," he smirked then hung up.

Post

Avery chuckled. "Then I should take you to Thai Chili Jam..." He replied, deciding on his destination and heading up the street he needed to take. "The name's kind of funny, but they make the best Thai I've ever had. It certainly blows Thai Red's stuff out of the water. Especially their Pad Thai...It's on 12th and Jefferson. You know where that is?"

Sasha smiled, "No that sounds good. I can meet you there if you like...I only know of Thai Red...unless there is another restaurant you go to?" He was already at his car and he piled in his books and slid in, "It's not the best Thai I've had, but...anyway..." he bit his lower lip afraid he was rambling.

Post

"Hey." Avery said through the other end as he walked down the block. "Just got out for my lunch break. You free to meet up?" He asked Sasha and smiled to himself. "I was thinking we could grab some thai food. do you like that idea, or did you have something else in mind?"

Post

Sasha was in the hall when his phone rang and he was quick to answer it, "Hello?" He asked a bit nervously. He hoped it was Avery on the other end.

Avery had been sentenced to do a lot of inventory work in the back due to being late, but eventually lunch came around. He stepped out of the store, putting his phone to his ear as he called up sasha.

The lecturer's voice sounded like mush to Sasha's ears. He was going over a subject Sasha was already well versed in and he was so bored he actually thought about getting up in the middle of it and going to the library. But he didn't, he endured and he would continue, but he passed the time by doodling and thinking very briefly about Avery. He couldn't wait until lunch, he was so excited about it it was almost embarrassing.

Post

Avery chuckled and nodded to him almost as if he were tipping his hat and headed out, hurrying down the street in hopes he could still make it. His mind was no longer on the fact that he was late, but rather on the man he had easily invited out to lunch. Things were going good and when he got to the streetcar (on time thankfully) he couldn't help but think that things could only get better.

"Sounds fine to me," Sasha smiled wide, "you got my number right? Just give me a ring when you are free. It will be easier for me to bow out of class than for you to miss work, so we'll just work around your schedule," he nodded, "well I need to get out of here, gonna eat breakfast then get to class," he opened the door for both of them, "Can't wait for your call," he winked.

Post

Grinning back, Avery nodded. "It most certainly is. You want to get a bite to eat later?" For the moment, he had forgotten the fact that he was lae.

"Oh umm...." Sasha was still a bit spooked by the sudden appearance of Avery, "I don't...I don't have any plans..." he walked up closer to him, "so is that an invitation?" He grinned.

Avery was in fact, still in bed but he was not quite asleep. Still feeling a bit groggy, he had woken up not long ago but laid in bed. He sat up and rubbed the back of his head then glanced at the clock, immediately flying out of bed when he saw what time it was. "SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT" He cursed under his breath as he began throwing clothes on. Not having time for a shower or to even get breakfast, he stuck some deoderant on and washed his face quickly before grabbing everything and running out the door, nearly running into Mikel who was meandering for the bathroom after being woken up by Avery's banging around.
"Fuck Avery..." Mikel grumbled as Avery shot past him. With a rushed apology, Avery bounded out the front door and rushed down the hall and down the steps to the open door. Hopefully, he wouldn't miss the street car and be even later than he already was. Halfway down, he nearly ran into Sasha. "OH shit!" He cried. "Sorry dude...I woke up late so I'm in a bit of a hurry." He apologized then smiled at him and continued past him. He turned the corner then stopped. After thinking a moment he ran back to the corner and smiled at him. "What are you doing for lunch today?"

Sasha woke up the next morning feeling awful. He was pretty sure it was the jar of pickles he had for dinner last night. He sat up, vowing to eat a good breakfast. He stretched and let out a popping yawn. He wondered if he should go knock on Avery's door, see if he wanted to grab a bite with him. Then he wondered if that was too soon. They had just officially met yesterday. He didn't want to look desperate for friendship...even though he was. He decided he would shower and dress and decide on the way out the door.
Dressed in tight black jeans and a yellow blouse with ruffles down the buttons he stopped right outside of Avery's door and just looked at it. The guy did say he worked late and then he was going to meet up with his friends. He could be sleeping right now, refreshing from a long night of rowdy patrons and rollicking fun time with his friends. He sighed and decided to just leave him be. He turned to walk away.

Sticking together, the three of them all went wandering. After hitting a few known tags, they decided to wander. It was getting to be late, and Avery checked his watch. "It's two in the morning guys. Should we check in with Joel and then maybe head back? Most of the ones we've seen are pretty much marked up."
Noah and Mikel nodded as they put away a stencil and a can of paint. All three of them had deep blue fingers from spray painting and when they didn't have to use them, they stuck them into their pockets to hide them. Noah glanced down the street. "I've got class tomorrow too."
Mikel volunteered and called Joel on his cell. Apparently, everyone wanted to stay out and look some more, but Joel was even thinking of heading out. After talking a bit, Mikel hung up. "Everyone's still hyped up, but we might as well go if we have to." With that, they began heading back. Not long after that, Mikel got a phone call from Joel almost immediately. "Hello?"
They paused as some frantic and fast talking happened through the earpiece and Mikel's eyes widened. "Uh-huh...ok we'll head out right now. Be safe. Bye."
"What's up?" Avery asked, feeling nervous about the face that Mikel wore.
"They caught a few people spraying up into the hills area and around here. Joel just got few calls from everyone who got away safe. We'd better get a move on if we don't want to get caught too."
Quickly, they walked back towards the SW area. They didn't run, only kept to themselves and kept their heads down. The less suspicious they looked the better. After a few scares with some cops who were patrolling around (the number of htem had increased, only confirming that they were on the look out for more), they managed to make it close enough to home that they could relax. They walked easily, not getting back until about three in the morning. They headed down the hallway and into their apartment where they said good night and fell asleep, but forgot to wash the paint from his hands. It wasn't quite a close call that night, but Avery knew he'd have to be careful from then on.

Sasha was dozing on the couch as one infomercial after another played on the screen. He decided he should get up and properly get ready for bed.
In the bathroom, as he brushed his teeth, he thought about Avery. He wondered if he got to whatever it was he wanted to do tonight. Then he started to wonder if he would actually call or was he just being polite.
"Probably polite," he whispered then washed his face. He shuffled off to his room and flopped down onto his bed. In no time he was asleep, dreaming about his daughter, Alexander the Great...and Avery.

Post

Avery was keeping watch while Mikel started tagging the lower corner of a building, hiding it away just enough so it wasn't completely hidden, but not obvious either. He looked over at Noah who was adjusting his stencils in his bag and finding a full can for his next tag. even in the dark lighting, Avery could see the slightly blue tint to every can inside. They all stuck with the same color for both groups. The other group had deep purple, while they had gotten blue. dark colors that wouldn't be so obvious for tracking if the police decided to try and hunt them down through the art store they bought the cans from. "Did Joel say anything to either of you about why we're going after the tags here and not just go across the river and try to find stuff there?"
Noah shrugged. "As far as I know, it wasn't completely his decision. He wasn't too keen on the idea but everyone else has been feeling like we're behind and if they've got the balls to do something like this, then I guess they felt we had something to prove back to them."
Avery sighed and shook his head. a pair of headlights flashed across a few buildings from far off. He gave a low whistle, loud enough for Mikel to hear and Mikel's form stopped moving, moving back into the shadows. the car turned and Avery waved his hand to indicate it had turned and the sound of spraying could be heard again. Mikel was soon finished and they stuck the cans bak into his pack along with his stencil. They went hunting for more marks. "Is this the main area they stuck to?"
Mikel shook his head. "No, they went clear up into the neighborhood."
"there isn't much up there to tag but houses and maybe some of the bridges."
"We know." Noah said and rolled his eyes. "They went far out of their way to do this. I'm not sure what they're getting at. they've never done this before."
Avery looked at Noah. "Not even before I joined up?"
"No, that's what's so odd about this." Mikel answered for Noah. "They've always had that rule in place. No going into the rich NW part of town because there's no point. they clean stuff so fast that even if you don't get caught, there's hardly a chance you'll get there fast enough to paint over what they've done. Still it's just a game we play. I suppose we don't have to be doing this, but like Noah said, everyone felt like they had something to prove."
With a small sigh, Avery shoved his hands into his coat pocket. "Well, might as well get into the spirit then...we just going to look or do we have another place we know of?"
"There's one down on Kearney...Joel said somebody saw it tucked away."
With a nod, he lead the way, calling back softly with, "Pull out my stencil, Noah. I'm going after you do..." as they went on.

Post

Sasha had just said good night to his daughter and talked to her mother for a little bit before he logged off. He had an odd relationship with his daughter's mother Jamie. She had been the last woman he was with before he finally decided that, though he was Bi, he liked males more. They were still friends, but Jamie had kept his little panda, Amanda from him for two years, moving to Seattle for a new job before finally saying anything. He understood her reasoning, she knew he never intended to be a father, but she was very happy in motherhood, she had started dating another man and her life, with the new job, baby and boyfriend was just better. Sasha wasn't upset, but he still felt a bit shafted. Amanda knew he was her father and she loved him just as much as he loved her, they just couldn't see each other often and he hated that. The first time he was able to see her they went to the zoo and she went crazy over the pandas and since she was still in her chubby baby stage the name little panda just stuck. Sasha missed her very much.

Post

Avery had rushed to work, nearly making himself late in the process. He worked, chatted with customers, and did it all as he normally did, but he was thinking in his head. Why did Joel and everyone want to follow up on marking after the other group? A better question was why did they suddenly decide to forgo one of their main rules and go to one of the most uptight and rich part of downtown and start tagging? He knew he could quit this at any time. it was mostly supposed to be all in fun and nothing serious, but he couldn't help but find this odd.
The way the group worked, was they would all get together, each group separately, and go on tagging runs. it was sort of a game, made up of people who knew people who would go out and do this sort of thing, and they would mark and tag up buildings, trains, and more. they each kept a tally of how much each side had, which ones were tagged over, and which ones were cleaned up before anybody could get to them. At the end of each month, they would get together and display the "score" to everybody, both groups included. At the end of the year, they would claim victory for the year and not only have bragging rights, but also the pleasure to be the first group to start the next year off. Avery had not been a part of the group long enough to see a year go by yet, but he had been doing it long enough to know the rules, the risks, and the people well. Never meant to be destructive with it, they always tried to put them in places that didn't seem so important but nevertheless, nobody seemed to like a tagging in general.
That night, with his stomach in knots, Avert left work trying to think of where they might have gone downtown. where they could have felt safe enough to tag something in that part of town. He felt really nervous making his way down there, but he seemed to find everyone alright and he spotted Joel, Mikel, and even Noah. Apparently, Noah decided this was worth skipping some of his homework for.

Sasha hadn't meant to just stand there and listen to their conversation, but Avery had perked up so much that he was intrigued. He didn't know what they were talking about, not sure he wanted to know with the word 'cops' thrown around so easily. But Avery had looked so different in the split second of happiness. Avery was already handsome, Sasha had known that for some time, but in that moment he was beautiful. He secretly hoped Avery could make it to whatever it was he wanted to do.
Sasha walked into his apartment, placing his keys on a small white table next to a picture of a chubby cheeked little girl with black pigtails and a ruffled teal shirt. She looked to be about three or four. He walked right into his kitchen and pulled out a Pepsi and a jar of pickles. He walked over to his sofa, pulled out his laptop and turned on Skype.
He was on it for only a few mintues before the chubby cheeked girl popped up with a huge smile on her face.
"My little panda!" Sasha grinned.
The girl giggled, "Hey daddy!"

Post

"Yeah, thanks. Good luck with your homework...if you have any-" Avery was replying with when he suddenly saw Mikel poke his head out the door of their apartment, looking until he saw Avery.
"Hey! Dude, I thought I heard you." He came up and nodded to Sasha before looking at Avery. "I got a call from Joel just an hour ago. There's a run going on here downtown."
"No shit really?! It's been forever since we've gone on one. Where?"
"The Northwest. More specifically, the Pearl District." Avery's face fell visibly and Mikel nodded in agreement. "I know. I told him they were crazy but he insisted. They've started running down and started marking everything there."
"I thought..." He paused and eyed Sasha, wondering if he should say any more in front of him then decided it didn't matter, so long as they didn't outright say it. "I thought we agreed that place was off limits because it's too risky?"
Mikel shrugged. "They wanted more of a rush I suppose."
"Well...I've got work tonight, when's this supposed to go down? Is Noah joining in too?"
Mikel shrugged. "I don't know. He's got class till nine and it's supposed to start at eleven. He could make it, but he's got a shit ton of homework. I'm lucky I don't have work, but..."
"yeah, it's a risk." Avery paused, chewing a little on his lip. "I've got work until 10:30, but I'm so close I could catch up to you guys in no time, especially if I take my bike."
"It'll be an easy escape for you if the cops come." Mikel laughed and threw his fist to Avery's shoulder. "You'll be able to cover more ground too..."
"Will anybody else be on bikes?"
"I don't know. probably not."
"I'll just walk. It'll be fine." Avery said, nodding. He paused. "Shit! Okay, I've got to get ready and go to work." He looked back to Sasha and winked. "I'll call you about that show. We'll keep in touch." he promised and began walking back to his, Mikel, and Noah's apartment.

Post

Sasha smiled, "Sure just call me. My schedule is more flexible than yours I think," finally at the door to his apartment, he turned to Avery and said, "I hope this leads to an awesome friendship! Good luck at work today!" Then he pushed the key into the door, ready to go inside.

Avery took the receipt and smiled down at it before nodding back to Sasha. He didn't know if Sasha was flirting or just being a friendly guy, but he didn't care which it was. "Definitely." He answered and pulled his own keys out. "Actually, you're twenty-one, right? There's a show at a bar across the river in the North-East part of town in a few days. The band is supposed to be good, and it's free to get in. You want to go?"

Post

"Not at all," Sasha smiled as he started to fish for his keys, "please don't worry about it. I am enjoying our little talk," he nodded an affirmative to Avery, "I hope we can talk again. Let's not make plans then see them fall through. I really would like to hang with you," he grinned, "you're a pretty laid back guy it seems," he pulled out his keys, one car, one house, one mail and a bunch of charms and key chains. One of the charms was a panda, just like on his phone, "Here let me give you my cell number and you can call me when you have a day off," he started digging around his messenger bag again until he found an old receipt and a pen. He quickly wrote down his digits and his name, the cursive 'S' a large dramatic flourish, "here," he handed the paper over, "you can call just to talk too if you want," he smiled kindly.

Avery gave out a laugh as well. "You get used to it. I hopped from apartment to apartment when I first got here. I started out in the dorms when I was still in school and left as soon as my lease was there and it took me nearly a year to get situated. It's hard finding roommates you get along with sometimes. I only met Mikel and Noah through a group I had been hanging out with at the time. It's easy to keep to yourself in a bigger city. What's hard, is getting along with everyone." He shrugged a little. "Sorry, I feel like I'm being a bit of a downer."

"Oh no I'm a total cannibal!" Sasha laughed, then realized what he said, "Oh whoa!" He laughed harder, "Carnivore! I'm a carnivore! I love meat!" he covered his mouth with his hand as his fit of laughter continued, "Oh my word!" He grinned over at Avery once he started to calm some then said, "Well, you let me know when you have a day off and we will hang sometime," they started through the parking lot toward their building, "I'm glad we have finally had the time to talk. It's strange living next to someone and not really talking to them more than a few hi's here and there."

Post

Avery laughed a little and nodded, clapping him on the shoulder. "We should! It'll be fun..." They began turning a corner onto the street their apartment was on. "It's greasy as hell, but so long as you dont' eat there regularly you won't be at risk for a heart attack or anything. we've also got vegetarian options if you don't eat meat..." he added the latter part in.

"Oh we should go to the skate park someday!" Sasha beamed, "There are so many different types of people that hang out there!" He chuckled, then realized just how forward he was being. He cleared his throat, "Um...that is, if you would like. It's cool if you're busy and...yeah..." Sasha gave a little crooked smile, like an embarrassed smirk, "so anyways, I've never been to Roxy. You said the food was good right? Maybe I will try it for lunch one day."

Post

Avery shrugged a little. "Whatever happens to be going on at the time. There's a lot of cheap things to do in this town, but I think what I mainly spend my money and time doing is going to shows, clubs a little, and just wandering." He grinned. "Especially when there's a lot of people around. People watching is more of a hobby than anything for me." He chuckled and flipped his hair back. "My hobbies are a bit odd in general, but they're not boring that's for sure." He left out some other things he did in his spare time. Tagging, stenciling, wandering all hours of the night despite the fact that he had work in the early morning, anythign to keep life alive for him. Avery knew he couldn't spill his more outlandish pastimes just yet. I might just scare Sasha away.

"Ah, I study so much I've forgotten what that word means!" Sasha laughed lightly, "Well, when I can I watch UFC or read. I used to go dancing, but school or age has calmed me down some. Oh I like movies a lot, old new whatever, really doesn't matter," he nodded his head towards Avery, "What about you? What you do for fun?"

Post

"I work at Everyday Music up the street here." he replied. "My second job is at Roxy down on Stark, a real dive but the food is good. Even better when you're drunk." He gave him a chuckle and pushed his hands into his pockets as they walked. "I was in school too when I first got here. I started out as a Music major , but decided school wasn't for me." He flipped his hair back and glanced over at Sasha, taking in his lean frame again before reminding himself it was rude to stare. As they paused at a corner, Avery asked, "So, waht do you do for fun?"

Post

"Yes, English major but thinking about adding History," Sasha chuckle, "ah...no...I am going to add History," he glanced over and smiled, "school's my life, using grants and savings to get through so I don't work. What job do you do?"
The longer he spoke to Avery and took in the other's smile the more relaxed he became. He liked having someone to talk to on the way home. He didn't have many friends and the ones he did have lived back home, so having someone as kind as Avery to talk to felt nice.

Post

Avery laughed a little in return and reached out, firmly taking his hand into a shake without much of an offer beforehand. "I'm Avery. It's a pleasure to properly meet you." He noticed Sasha's lean frame, and how he was slightly feminine, with the charms he had on his phone and the way he played with his hair. It was cute, and his smile continued, softening a little, but still there nonetheless. "Let's walk, I can't be late for my shift at my next job." he wagged his thumb in the direction that they were headed, as if to indicate he took up the invitation. "So...you're a student right? I've seen you carrying your books and stuff when you come and go outside the building..."

Post

Sasha smiled, "Yeah, we've said hi a few times," he placed his phone in his pocket, the charms dangling out the edge, "Oh and thanks, but I'm good, wasn't looking. Totally my fault," he was blushing a bit and he nervously played with the end of his long braid, "So, you going that way? To the complex I mean? Wanna walk together?" He gave him another smile, "If nothing else, if you can see me then I can't lob objects at you from the back," he chuckled softly, "Name's Sasha," he nodded to him.

Post

Avery pulled his earbuds out by the cord with one hand while he rubbed the back of his head with the other. "some arm you got..." he joked with a small smile and winced slightly as his fingers pressed into a tender spot. "Got me good...you alright?" he asked, his arm coming down to his side. He glanced Sasha up and down a minute, finding him rather familiar. It took him a moment, but he suddenly remembered. "Oh! You live in the same apartment complex I do..." he said and his smile got wider. "I thought you looked familiar.

Post

Sasha groaned as he stepped off the curb and followed the crowd as the crossed the street. He was digging through his messenger bag, looking for his cell phone. He was sure he had brought it with him, but now he couldn't find it. He needed to call his advisor and set up a meeting for adding another major. He needed to do it now, while he was thinking about it, or he would more than likely forget.
He felt the edge of his phone's case, it was bright yellow as he pulled it out. The charms, a strawberry, panda bear and pink diamond shaped jewel jangled as he dialed. He wasn't looking and his toe hit the curb on the other side of the road and he tripped, landing on two people and taking them out with him. His phone went flying and he looked up just as it hit a young man on the back of the head.
Sasha was whispering apologies to the people he had toppled and was helping up the woman, a girl in his trig class he noticed, as he waved at Avery, "Sorry about the phone dude!" His voice was deeper than one would expect from his appearance. He smiled at the woman and once he was steady he went over to Avery and picked up his phone from its place at his feet, "Sorry," he gave him a lopsided embarrassed grin.

Post

(I'm not sure how you want to go about this, I assume you just post a new topic each time and don't use the comments as a way to do the rp...if its something else let me know :) )

Avery stepped quickly down the side walk towards the apartment complex he shared with his roommates downtown. Though he was in no hurry, his steps were paced rather quickly anyways out of habit. With a pair of headphones on, he was listening to some oldies and letting his eyes wander as he went. He was coming back from his job at the music store, only to change and grab a bite to eat before heading out to his other job at The Roxy, a dive located just off the main thoroughfare that ran through the heart of downtown. He didn't mind the double shift, but was also thankful he didn't have them nearly every day. Avery paused on a street corner to wait for the light to change and he glanced around, noticing that he was passing by one of the schools that inhabited the area. He sighed a little over it, as he did once in a while, and wondered (as he sometimes did when passing the college) if maybe he had stayed and completed his schooling. He didn't have to do anything with it when he was done, really and he knew that. It would just be an accomplishment, something he could say he had done and be proud of. Even though I've got plenty to be proud of myself, he thought as he crossed the street.

Character

Name: Sasha Monroe
Age: 22
Gender: Male
Description: Sasha is lean and tall standing at six foot three. He as long blonde hair that rest at the center of his back and green eyes. He's a bit effeminate, but couldn't actually pass for a female. He is currently studying as an English major at the college, but is thinking about changing to a double major of English and History. He wants to become a teacher and one day a professor. He lives in the same apartment complex as Avery and has seen him a few times with his roommates. He's said hi a few times, but they really haven't spoken beyond that.
